THE COMPANY

Bill Wiseman and Co. was founded in 1980 by retired Marine Master Sergeant William Wiseman.  Following Bill’s retirement as one of the top military gunsmiths, he was encouraged by several of the leading ammunition manufactures to apply his substantial gunsmith talents to barrel making, and in particular the manufacture of test barrels.   His relationships in the firearms industry led him to well known barrel maker Pat McMillan of McMillan Barrels, where he eventually acquired McMillan’s Barrels in 1983.  It wasn’t long before Bill’s military reputation, and his obsession with quality and accuracy, became the foundation of Bill Wiseman and Co.  Today the company operates out of an 7000 square foot facility in College Station, Texas, complete with a 100 meter underground testing facility.  The shop floor includes both state of the art and time tested manufacturing equipment, of which Bill has improved and tailored to the manufacture of his barrels and universal receiver platforms.

BILL WISEMAN, OUR FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

Bill Wiseman has been working in the firearms business for over 40 years.  Bill joined the Marines in 1959.  He served throughout the United States and at bases around the world in Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, Okinawa, Japan, Taiwan, China and Panama.  He served first as a 2112 Marine sniper for 16 of his 20 years and was trained in the building and maintenance of all type of sniper weapons and competitor rifles.  He reached the rank of Master Sergeant and was one of the top armors and gunsmith in the Marine Corps when he retired in 1980.  He is credited with numerous rifle, pistol, shotgun innovations and improvements that are still in use today throughout the military.  One of Bill’s most rewarding ongoing assignments was to serve as the chief gunsmith in support of the USA shooting teams for a period of 10 years which led to the World Championship from the Olympic and Pan-American games.  In this role, he traveled around the world and developed his reputation as one of the best at what he does.  His advice and technical consultation is still sought after today by many of the leaders in both the military and commercial firearms industry.

HOW WE CONDUCT OUR BUSINESS

Over the past 30 years, the success of Bill Wiseman Co., has been based upon three simple principles:

1.  We will make a quality product, and provide service before, during and after the sale.

2.  We will pay personal attention to our customers through a one on one relationship with them.

3.  We will charge a fair and reasonable price for our products, and we will stand behind each and every one of them.

These principles may sound simple, or in even obvious to anyone in business today, but they are the principles the company was founded upon over 30 years ago, and will remain our guiding principles into the future.
